Billy and Valerie have traveled extensively throughout the United States and various countries, preaching and singing as Evangelist and in Short Term Missions. In 2004, the Thomas’ pioneered The Refuge Church and have continued to see God’s hand at work in every area of ministry. Billy has finished his M.Div. Equiv. and is pursuing his Doctorate from McAffey School of Theology, Mercer University. He also holds a teacher certification in Language Arts, grades 6-12, through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
Valerie is currently the Minister of Music at the Refuge. When in college, she traveled with Revivaltime Choir and she has recorded nine different record projects. She has written many songs and leads, from the piano, the congregation into the Presence of the Lord every week.
